BCMS joins forces with The Kitchen Cafe
In a season of firsts, Blue Candlelight Music Series presents a night of sultry jazz. The venue is The Kitchen Cafe in Dallas, a site synonymous with World Class Jazz. Tony Hakim, The Kitchen Cafe owner and BCMS Artistic Director Baya Kakouberi, invite you to experience jazz as interpreted by a unique trio never before heard in Dallas. Felix Slováček Jr. & Sr., along with Russian pianist Vyacheslav Grokhovsky, all master classical musicians, are also hot jazz cats. Felix Slováček, Sr. is one of the best-known musicians in the Czech Republic, a household name. He has been awarded the Czech Republic’s highest civilian honor for his contributions to Czech culture.
From the country of Johann Nepomuk Hummel, Leoš Janáček, Gustav Mahler, Bohuslav Martinů, and celebrated by Bedřich Smetana in his epic tone poem, Ma Vlast, this trio brings the sophisticated, urbane vibe of Eastern European jazz. This will be a unique offering by Blue Candlelight and The Kitchen Cafe, not performed anywhere else in the USA.
Cover charge is $20, all food and drinks extra, plenty of free parking is available. Extremely limited seating to 65 persons.
