2023 IBLA FOUNDATIONS WINNERS – BIOGRAPHIES

Anna Dorothea Mutterer, Violin – GERMANY
IBLA GRAND PRIZE Outstanding Musician, German violinist Anna Dorothea Mutterer (*Dec 1992) has performed concerts in almost every European country, Israel, Mexico, the USA, Australia and New Zealand, playing solo recitals, concerts with orchestra and chamber music. She started playing the violin and the piano at the age of 6. Beginning her studies at the “Hochschule für Musik Würzburg” (Germany) in 2003 as one of the youngest students, she has since been working with highly skilled violinists such as Maxim Vengerov, Kirill Troussov, Eugène Sarbu, Tanja Becker – Bender and Baiba Skride in lessons and masterclasses. Sheˋs currently finishing her Master of Performance at the University of Music in Hamilton, New Zealand.

Anna Dorothea has won numerous first prizes at important national and international competitions in Germany, Austria, Italy, France, Malta and Australia, including the 1st prize at the “Concours International de Violin” in Cambrai (France) in 2018 as well as the 3rd prize at the “International Mozart Competition” in Berlin (Germany) in 2017 and the “Bishop Instruments Award” at the “Melbourne International Violin Competition” in Australia in 2018. Besides music, Anna Dorothea has a passion for fitness and nature and loves to write poems.
